Deva Premal & Miten and Friends

The Wellness Path presents in Toronto:

Deva Premal & Miten and Friends
“On The Wings Of Mantra”

Queen Elizabeth Theatre

May 7, 2022

As the province slowly reopens concert/event spaces to full capacity, there are restrictions that remain in place. Please note that all patrons at Queen Elizabeth Theatre must comply with provincial mandates that include proof of vaccination and mask wearing when attending an event in this space. This applies to our concert program on May 7, 2022.

We understand that these conditions for attendance may not suit the personal choices of all our patrons. We are waiving the no-cancellation policy until Friday November 19, 2021 for current ticket holders who wish to get a refund. (Refunds exclude the initial processing fees which are not recoverable). We thank you for your understanding and support.

Please note that the concert originally scheduled for Sunday September 13, 2020, then re-scheduled for Sunday September 12, 2021, has been re-scheduled again to Saturday May 7, 2022, at the same venue. Tickets issued for the 2020 or 2021 dates will be honoured for the May 7, 2022 date.

Tickets are on sale, now for the new date!

1. You will receive a reminder email from the ticketing service (BrightStar Live Events) 24 hours before the May 7, 2022 concert with a link to print out your new tickets.

2. If you want your new print-out earlier, you can use the “print” link on your original confirmation email from BrightStar – and the new print-out will have the new date.

3. The ticket code on the print-out for the 2020 or 2021 concert dates will be the same as for the 2022 concert, so the print-out you have now will work at the 2022 re-scheduled event.

For those who purchased tickets for the 2020 or 2021 dates but prefer a refund, please contact Nirmal at [email protected] by July 31, 2021. Ticket refunds are for the ticket cost only. The ticket agency fees are not refundable since they provided services for the initial ticket issue.

Join world-renowned devotional mantra stars Deva Premal & Miten and friends as they celebrate 30 years of love, mantra and inspirational music. These magical gatherings have inspired and transformed audiences across the planet. To celebrate their 30th anniversary, Deva and Miten will feature a collection of old favourites from their 21-album catalogue, along with standout pieces from their 2019 Grammy nominated album DEVA, which includes the Seven Chakra Gayatri Mantra, one of their most famous signature chants.

It’s difficult to describe the communal rhapsody that occurs when Deva & Miten take the stage. “There is a portal that we all go through, musicians and audiences alike,” Miten says. “It’s created by – and connected to – everyone in the theatre. For us, it’s not about entertainment, it’s a matter of life and death. When thousands of kindred spirits gather to chant these ancient prayers, magic happens.”

Led by the exquisite, telepathically-entwined harmonies of Deva and Miten, the blend of sensual-meets-spiritual, east-meets-west music that they perform has attracted the attention of stars and world teachers. The Dalai Lama includes their chants in his private time, while Cher is currently featuring their composition of the Gayatri Mantra in her current shows. Meditators and yoga practitioners attend their concerts along with fans of new age, trance, rock, fusion, classical, Eastern and all kinds of world music.

“Mantra chanting never fails to uplift the tired spirit, no matter how disconnected we may feel,” Deva says. “And it always happens. Every theatre becomes a temple when we gather to share our voices in sacred chant.”

Watch “Breathe (I Am Free)” from her new “Voices Like Rain” Live album!

Ajeet and her band weave together ancient rhythms and melodies, deep meditative spaces and heart-opening songs to bring you on a journey through music. Their concerts are an opening to spirit, a ceremonial space, and an opportunity for deep connection. Accompanied by Ezra Landis on guitar, and Raffa Martinez on percussion, and Aisling Urwin on harp, allow Ajeet’s voice to carry you to another realm. Let your voice join with many in a call for healing, a return to the ancient ritual of prayer through song.

“I feel so blessed to know Ajeet, to sing with her, and practice in spiritual community together. Her music & presence is purely uplifting, joyful, and filled with devotion. I hope you will come out to chant with her.” ~ Snatam Kaur
